Kingspan sees a new angle in solar panels
Kingspan Solar, the manufacturer of high-performance solar thermal collectors, has launched a unique solution for its flagship evacuated tube collector, Thermomax HP.
In response to market demand, the company has designed a special low inclination roof kit which significantly increases the flexibility of the HP400 and HP450 collectors.
The original Thermomax HP400/450 system can only be mounted at inclination angles between 20° and 75°. Addition of the new kit to the standard mounting kit increases the range of inclination the panels can be installed at, allowing the collectors to be mounted at inclination angles between 10° and 90°. This makes them suitable for a number of applications where the original Thermomax HP could not have been used.
The new kit especially suits industrial flat roof applications, where high ballast loads can now be avoided thanks to the lower wind load. In addition, the assembled collector is only 550mm high, which significantly reduces its visual impact.
The new system retains all the features and benefits of the original collectors, including a unique device to limit temperature to 90°C (HP400 model) or 135°C (HP450 model) and prevent the system overheating. The collectors come with a standard five-year guarantee extended to 20 years if the system is installed by a Kingspan Solar accredited installer.
