Fernox keeps systems clean

The use of chemical water treatment to deal with dirty, unreliable central heating systems to prevent boiler breakdown was pioneered in 1964 by Fernox founder Peter Muetzel.

Since then, the sector has progressed and evolved, as seen by the widespread adoption of filter technology.

Today, filter technology is so embedded in the heating industry that it is included in the supplementary information of the Domestic Heating Guide, which states: “A filter can also be fitted to the central heating circuit to help maintain the efficiency and reliability of the system.”

Offering a 25-year body parts warranty, the Fernox TF1 Omega Filter has undergone development and testing to deliver what both the installer and end user require. As the first nickel-plated brass filter produced by Fernox for the domestic market, the filter combines a powerful, neodymium magnet with hydronic particle separation (HPS) technology. This method of cleaning optimises flow trajectories to enable particles to settle at the bottom of the filter. As a result, the filter can extract market-leading levels of system debris, retaining them safely for rapid, easy removal.

The filter has been designed to help reduce installation time and provide flexibility. Ideally fitted onto the return pipe to the boiler, it can be installed horizontally or vertically on 22mm and 28mm pipework in both flow directions, and may be positioned at a 45° angle if required – making it fast to install even in confined, tight or awkward spaces.

Cleaning the TF1 Omega Filter is a fast and mess-free process, which can be completed in situ. The filter can also be used to dose the system in less than 30 seconds, using the Fernox Express range. Used in combination with the Filter Fluid+ Protector Express, an inhibitor package, it prevents formation of further scale and corrosion.

The TF1 Omega Filter and Filter Fluid+ Protector Express 400 ml are available at the promotional price of £69.99 in all Plumb Center and Parts Center branches.
