On the throne
Game of Thrones is probably the biggest show on television right now. The finale of season five, which aired in June, was watched by more than eight million people in the US alone, smashing viewing records. So if you get offered a part, however small, it’s probably best to bite the casting director’s hand off.
And that’s exactly what Watford-based heating engineer Winston Davis did when he was offered the part of a thug in a scene with Arya Stark herself, played by Masie Williams. In fact, Winston, director of Taylor Duckworth, was so eager to take the role he flew to Croatia to shoot the brief scene only two hours after the birth of his third child.
There’s a history of characters being victims of brutal revenge in the series, so let’s hope that Winston’s wife isn’t too peeved about him leaving her to look after the kids!
