Latrine with the sheen
A few issues ago we brought you word of a three‑piece suite made of chocolate. The impressive, but entirely useless, set of bathroom fixtures was valued at £80,000, but now a designer from Japan, Ginza Tanaka, has decided that needs upstaging.
A rather sparkly attraction was unveiled at the China International Kitchen & Bathroom Expo 2015 in Shanghai in June. It was, of course, a toilet. It wasn’t just any old run-of-the-mill bog, however. Encrusted with 72,000 Swarovski crystals, the sparkly latrine is supposedly worth more than £84,000, which trumps the entire three‑piece chocolate suite.
As far as we know, no one has bought the rather regal-looking throne just yet. Maybe potential buyers are waiting for Ginza to make the rest of the set.
