Super Mario is no longer a plumber. A newly updated profile on Nintendo’s Japanese website suggests Mario may have lost his job. Because of economic downturn? Or just sheer laziness?

The most famous plumber in the world, Mario was said to have been given his job because he spent a lot of time underground. But not since the original Mario Bros game was the diminutive handyman seen to do any actual pipework.
