Always be prepared

We’ve featured inventors in here before, like the plumber who invented magnetic boots, but one innovative plumber is becoming a bit of a celebrity.

Colin Furze from Lincolnshire has become a bit of a hit on YouTube with his various inventions, which include Wolverine claws and an ejector bed, but he’s just undertaken his biggest project yet.

Furze teamed with Sky to promote its show You, me and the Apocalypse to construct a heavily-engineered steel apocalypse bunker beneath the garden of his semi-detached house.

The steel and concrete bunker is stacked with canned food and basic amenities, although Furze couldn’t resist including a flat screen TV and surround sound – if you’re the last man on earth you may well find life a bit boring without a boxset or two.
